About Us

REACT Sports white.png

REACT Sports is a Registered Charity (SC045050) with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. The organisation is very much a Sport for Change focussed Charity, operating three sporting platforms: basketball, dance and netball.

The primary purpose of REACT Sports is the advancement of public participation in recreational, grass-roots basketball and netball among children & young people aged 5-25 years of age.

Our secondary purpose is the advancement of citizenship through developing and instilling our core values and how they are applicable in both life, and sport.

Our values are:

  • Respect

  • Enable

  • Achievable

  • Community and

  • Togetherness.

REACT Sports was co-founded by Josh Anderson and Tim Burges in February 2013. Both Josh and Tim had a core belief that every child, no matter what their background was, should have access to and enjoy taking part in recreational, grass-roots sport in their local community.

The programme initially started out as REACT Basketball, however due to the popularity of the programme, alongside financial support from a number of key agencies such as the BIG Lottery Fund, the organisation developed into a multi-sport Charity, thus impacting even more children & young people across the West of Scotland.
